A collaborative, trauma-informed environment for emerging mental health professionals.

THE THÉLA PRACTICUM EXPERIENCE

More than completing your hours.

Practicum is an important transition from learning about psychotherapy to beginning the work of providing it.

Our aim is to offer students a structured outpatient setting where they can develop clinical skills, practise professional responsibilities, and build confidence through real-world experience.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Learning through experience.

Our practicum setting emphasizes clinical development, professionalism, and thoughtful engagement with clients.

01.

Clinical Experience

Gain experience in outpatient psychotherapy with adult clients, with caseload development guided by readiness, suitability, and clinic capacity.

02.

Trauma-Informed Practice

Develop awareness of safety, collaboration, client choice, emotional regulation, and the impact of trauma on therapeutic work.

03.

Professional Development

Build familiarity with documentation, scheduling, intake processes, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.

04.

Reflective Learning

Strengthen self-awareness, clinical judgment, and the ability to recognize personal and professional learning needs.

05.

Cultural Responsiveness

Practise approaching diverse identities, lived experiences, family systems, and cultural contexts with humility.

06.

Collaborative Practice
