THÉLA PSYCHOTHERAPY CLINIC · CONTINUITY OF CARE
Outpatient psychotherapy & post-hospitalization support for children, teens, and adults.
Returning to everyday life after psychiatric hospitalization can bring relief, uncertainty, and new challenges. Théla offers individualized, trauma-informed psychotherapy to support emotional stabilization, adjustment, and ongoing recovery—whether you are preparing for discharge or have already returned home.
A CONTINUING PATH FORWARD
Hospital discharge is an important transition, not a finish line. Some people benefit from ongoing psychotherapy as they rebuild routines, strengthen coping strategies, reconnect with relationships, and adjust to life outside the hospital.
Our work begins with understanding your current needs, existing supports, and goals. Together, we can focus on safety, emotional regulation, and practical skills before considering deeper therapeutic work when appropriate.
WHO WE SUPPORT
Outpatient psychotherapy may be appropriate for children, adolescents, and adults who are medically and clinically ready for scheduled community-based therapy, including those living with overlapping mental health concerns.
Emotional dysregulation, anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence (ASD, ADHD, AuDHD), school reintegration, family adjustment, and post-discharge transitions.
Complex trauma, personality disorders, mood and anxiety concerns, emotional regulation, identity, relationships, and recovery following psychiatric hospitalization.
Understanding a loved one's needs, supporting emotional regulation at home, navigating changes after discharge, and strengthening communication and boundaries.
WHAT THERAPY CAN ADDRESS
Care is tailored to the person rather than a diagnosis alone. Areas of support may include:
Developing distress-tolerance skills, understanding emotional triggers, strengthening grounding strategies, and working with an existing safety plan.
Supporting the return to routines, school, work, relationships, and community activities at a manageable pace.
Exploring the effects of difficult experiences with attention to readiness, consent, nervous-system capacity, and stabilization.
Helping clients and their support networks understand patterns, communicate more effectively, and identify practical next steps.
OUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
Depending on individual needs and readiness, psychotherapy may integrate Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and somatic or nervous-system-informed approaches.
Not every person needs trauma processing immediately after hospitalization. We prioritize collaborative assessment, stabilization, coping skills, and the pace that feels clinically appropriate.
Clinical fit matters. Services are offered by appointment and depend on availability and suitability. Théla is not a hospital outpatient department, intensive outpatient program, crisis service, or provider of medication management.

COMMON QUESTIONS
