Théla Psychotherapy Clinic’s Affordable Therapy Program offers reduced-fee sessions for individuals who want supportive counselling at a more accessible rate. Sessions are delivered by Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) student interns who are completing clinical practicum requirements.
This program is designed to be:
Accessible (reduced fee)
Structured (clear process and expectations)
Ethical and transparent (you’ll know exactly who is providing care and how supervision works)
Fees
$70 per 50-minute
Payment is due at the time of booking or session, depending on your booking method.
Please note: Because services are provided by student interns (not independently registered clinicians), insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed. If you plan to submit claims, we recommend confirming eligibility with your provider in advance.
Who provides the sessions?
Sessions are provided by MACP student interns who are:
1) Completing a clinical practicum placement at Théla Clinic,
2) Working within a defined scope appropriate for training,
3) Practising under external clinical supervision (not supervised by Théla)
Each intern’s profile will clearly state their student status and supervision arrangement.
Supervision and Clinical Responsibility
To protect quality of care and support student development, each intern receives external clinical supervision arranged through their training program.
Important: Théla Clinic is the training site and records custodian, and administers program operations. Théla Clinic is not the clinical supervisor for interns in this program. Clinical oversight and supervision are provided by the intern’s external supervisor, and supervisor information is available upon request.
If you ever have concerns about clinical care provided by a student intern, Théla will help you connect with the appropriate supervisory pathway.
Confidentiality and Record Keeping
Your privacy matters. Théla Clinic maintains secure clinical records as the custodian of records for this program. Student interns also follow professional confidentiality standards and practicum requirements.
As with all counselling services, confidentiality has limits (e.g., risk of harm to self/others, child protection obligations, or legal requirements). These limits will be explained in your consent paperwork.
